What does the DCPA do at Chris Collins Dance Studio?

• Fundraise: We fundraise to help offset the costs of competition fees and to provide scholarships for future company members! We do this by soliciting sponsors, working events, and participating in fundraisers like Spring2Action, Double Good, Super Bowl squares, March Madness bracket tournament and a calendar fundraiser. We also offer weekly dinners for purchase on Wednesday nights. 

• Build Community: We organize events to bring our community together. We plan parent socials, theater outings, a winter holiday celebration, and our end of the year cast party.

• Support Dancers: Our fundraising dollars come back to us as competition vouchers. In 2026 we were able to cover the cost of one group dance per dancer per competition (including nationals) which was over $350 per dancer for the season. We provided two $1000 scholarships to CCDS studio students at the recital. We coordinated the rental of space for our annual stage rehearsal. We also cover the cost of each dancer’s meal at the end of the year cast party. 

Think of us as the Dance Company PTA! We are a registered 501(c)3 non-profit and donations to the DCPA are tax deductible. 

How can you be involved this year? 

1. Join the DCPA! New and old DCPA members click here and join the DCPA for the 2026-2027 year for only $40! Joining the DCPA does not commit you to participate in every activity but you only receive competition vouchers if you are a DCPA member.

2. Get Connected! Find us on Instagram (@dancecompanyparentsccds). We also have a monthly newsletter that contains can’t miss information! Make sure you read it on our website https://sites.google.com/view/dance-company-parents-assoc/home

3. Attend a DCPA meeting! DCPA meetings are usually scheduled on Saturday afternoons during production rehearsals.

4. Come to DCPA events! Dance parents are fun! Let’s hang out together! 

5. Volunteer! For the DCPA to be effective and truly representative of the company, we need YOU! You are an important part of our DCPA dance family. Whether you have 30 minutes or a couple of hours, your ideas, your time, your talents, and your voice is needed.
